Fun Pics and More!

Saturday morning we let Daddy sleep in a bit.  The boys were playing kinda quietly in the toy room, so I went in to investigate.  When I entered, I saw Drew on the big horse with a straw hat and Bode on the ground trying to get on the big horse with a straw hat.  Drew had dressed them both up as cowboys only he had on the small hat and Bode had on the big hat!  It was absolutely adorable.  They are really starting to become good friends.

We went to the park yesterday in Hudson.  Drew loved playing on EVERYTHING! Bode was a bit hesitant, but he ended up trying almost everything.  (Daddy and Papa had a good time too!)

The next pictures are from the Easter weekend we spent in Ottumwa.  Danny and Kelsey came back from Oklahoma, so the boys had a good time playing with them.

This is Drew's new picture pose, crossed arms with the pirate eye!

I tried to take Bode to get his 18 month pictures (a little late) taken at JC Penney's.  He refused to do it.  He put his arm across his face and said the word he knows and uses best, NO!  I didn't push it too much.  I did have to get some sort of picture of  him though.  The outfit and that cute little face was too much to pass up!

Waiting for Spring!

It seems like winter has been around forever!  We are all excited for warmer weather and some sunshine. Drew was watching the I pad today and Bode climbed right up in the chair next to him to watch too.  They are becoming really good friends!
Bode loves to play catch with any type of ball.
Lately it's been football.  He likes to put on Drew's Vikings helmet and run around as well.
Drew, as you can see below, is really into having his picture taken and then looking at the results on the camera!

Bode on the other hand, does not like his picture taken as well.
Drew sat and read a book to his little brother one night after supper.  How sweet!
Both boys love to swiffer my floor after school every day.  Entertainment and chores, score!

Drew has become quite the artist, and Bode just thinks he is!  Drew paints just about anything.  He painted a birthday present for his daddy. It was a picture holder that we filled with candy for his desk at school.
Drew pushing his buddy in a "boat" one night.  They love to pretend.
Drew loves to play outside in the snow.  Bode doesn't really enjoy it though!

Bode is ALWAYS asking someone to read to him.  If he can't find a willing reader, he will find a place and read to himself!
I walked into the bathroom one night and found my eldest washing his feet in the sink.  What could I do but laugh and capture it forever!
Life is busy as usual around here.  The boys never slow down or stop growing.  They keep us on our toes and we love every minute of it.  Joe started golf practice last week at school.  We also started the last quarter of school, so summer break is within vision.  We are excited for the ground to thaw and to spend some time on the golf course together really soon!  We hope all is well with everyone!

Joe finally killed a deer and Drew was a little nervous posing with it!

Drew turned 4 on January 10th this is a picture of him and Bode before school that day.

Grandma Karen and Papa Doug sent him balloons to school. The whole class was very excited about it!
I can't believe my baby is four already!  Time goes by so quickly!
Drew is in love with Spiderman.  His family party was all Spiderman and all of his gifts were too.   He loved them all.
Grandma Jan made a Spiderman cake. It looked and tasted awesome!
The party was at the Isle Casino in Waterloo, so the kids got to swim.  They had a great time!

My birthday was yesterday.  Grandma Karen asked Drew what he wanted my cake to look like and what it should say.  Above is exactly what he ordered.  A cake with red and green with flowers that says, "Dear Mommy, This is for you!"  It was very cute and delicious!
My boys and me on my birthday.

Catching up...again!

What a wild month December was!  We had a blast spending time with family, hosting parties and being a part of the local tour of homes.

We started off the holiday season by cutting down our own Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving.  It was close to 15 feet tall!  This is a picture of Drew watering it after we put it up. I don't have a picture of it completely decorated, but it was neat!!  We were part of the tour of homes this year, so we had everything all decorated before the calendar ever changed to December!

Drew had a rough month of time outs.  I think the anticipation of Christmas got the better of him.  I thought this picture was cute because Bode decided to serve the term with Drew in time out and Drew didn't like it very much!
Drew had a Christmas concert at school on the 20th.  They did a reader's theater of If You Take a Mouse to the Movies. The preschoolers acted it out, and my fifth graders did the reading.  It was really cute!
The preschoolers sang at the end, and yes, my son was the crow. He sang his little heart out.  It was adorable!
This was the funniest part.  He took a bow after every song, and I believe he was the only one to do so!
We got our first snow storm on the 21st, so the boys watched their daddy plow the driveway with the four wheeler.
This is from the Christmas party at my aunt and uncle's on the 22nd.  The boys got the chance to meet some of my family they have never seen before.
This is Drew playing with my cousin Matt who lives in Seattle.
Bode all ready to go on Christmas Eve!

All of the cousins on Christmas Eve.  Bode 1, Alex 11, Taylor 7, Mackenzie 4 and Drew 3
Drew got the #1 thing on his Christmas list, a camo jeep!
Drew and Papa Doug with the Sponge Bob ball that Drew bought for Papa.
Bode and his new cheesy smile.
Drew finally got to play outside in the snow the other day with our neighbor girls and his best friends, Morgan and Rachel.  He asks me every day if I can text his friends!
Bode didn't get to go out and play, but he liked watching from the window!
Drew and the girls built a fort, and Drew thought it was the coolest thing ever!!
It has been a busy, but very fun month. We feel really blessed to have such wonderful friends and family to spend time with.  Today is the last day of 2012, and we can't wait to see what is in store for us in 2013!
